Top U.S. Senate Republican urges locking in Keystone pipeline
U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said on Thursday that passing a temporary tax cut proposal would lock-in thousands of jobs that would be created from building the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada.
House Republicans are under growing pressure to accept a temporary extension of the popular payroll tax cut. The legislation also includes a provision pressing President Barack Obama to speed up approval of the pipeline that will carry oil from Canada to port facilities in Texas.
