Before Manchester United shattered Arsenal, another London side, Spurs, got mauled by the blue half of Manchester.

Edin Dzeko scored four goals, Samir Nasri made three goals on his debut and Manchester City were simply sublime as they outclassed Spurs, who had want-away midfielder Luka Modric in the starting eleven.

Sergio Aguero scored the other as Younnes Kaboul's header off a corner proved to be a mere consolation for the desolate Spurs.

Although it's too early in the season to make judgements, the two Manchester sides look likely to be the top two contenders for the Premiership.
