A passenger train has crashed into a Holiday Inn on Monday morning in the Finnish capital Helsinki after the brakes failed .

The train was not carrying any passengers, but had three staff members onboard, according to BBC reports.

The train's conductor sustained minor injuries. No other injuries were reported while surrounding buildings were evacuated.

The speed at impact was estimated at 12 to 19 mph, causing the cars to jump buffers at the end of the tracks, the report said.

Officials fear that the buildings may collapse if the train is moved.
