It's Christmas in TV gossip land! It was announced yesterday that True Blood's Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are expecting their first child together! News of the star's pregnancy was disclosed to Entertainment Weekly, who broke the story.

The couple, who star as a hospitable Southern belle and a Civil War era vampire, began a steamy romance after auditioning for the hit HBO series together. In 2010, the pair quietly wed in an intimate Malibu, Calif., ceremony. Of their first meeting, Moyer told Men's Health:

I did find love on set. We had met at the very first rehearsal before my screen test for HBO, for the network, for the pilot, Moyer remembered. Our interest was piqued by each other but at that point it was like, we're about to work together for a long time, hopefully, you know, if the show gets picked up. So, there were no feelings at that point...they put us in a hotel, we were in the same hotel. We were having dinner every night. I got back to London and Anna got back to New York and I just missed speaking to her every day, which is what we had been doing up into that point. Bob's your uncle, Fanny's your aunt, and...you have a marriage.

Though the couple are currently basking the the glow of marital bliss, their True Blood characters haven't been so lucky. For the first two seasons of the series, Bill and Sookie became entangled in a tumultuous vamp/human relationship that included raunchy encounters in a cemetery, shower, on the floor...and, oh my, the list goes on!

Yet when Bill's vicious dark side resurfaced, Sookie found solace in the most unlikely place, in the arms of Bill's malicious undead rival, Eric (Alexander Skarsgard). The drop-dead hot (no pun intended) bad-boy proved to be the perfect antidote to heartbreak and their passions began to unlock in places like the woods, in a chair, floor, and shower (we see a pattern here). But, alas, all really, really sexy things must come to an end. By the end of season 4, Sookie couldn't decide which of the two sculpted hunks she loved more (it's a common problem), and bid them both a tearful farewell.

So what does Paquin's pregnancy mean for the series? With production on season 5 almost complete, it's unlikely that her delicate condition will factor into the plot. Yet if True Blood is renewed for a 6th season, producers are going to have some decisions to make. If her character becomes preggers, it won't be by a vampire (this isn't Twilight where vampires can make babies). A human, shape-shifter, or werewolf will be the daddy.

We won't know how it all plays out until season 5 begins on June 10th. In the meantime, here's a look at Paquin and Moyer's romance in pictures! Is it just us, or are they ridiculously classy?
