To outsiders it may seem like Tyra Banks has done it all, but there’s one more thing the supermodel hopes to check off her list -- motherhood. She recently opened up about that desire, revealing the extreme lengths she’s gone to in an attempt to get pregnant.

According to an interview with People, Banks, 41, had been putting off having children for quite some time. She told the publication it was always something she wanted, but she kept telling herself, “‘I will have kids in three years.’” Finally, at the age of 40, she realized it was now or never. Unfortunately, getting pregnant was easier said than done. With the support of boyfriend Erik Asla, Banks began to undergo IVF treatment, which she said has had it’s ups and downs.

“I’ve had some not happy moments with that, very traumatic moments,” she said. “It’s difficult as you get older. It’s not something that can just happen.”

Despite the challenges, Banks remains hopeful that she will one day be able to conceive. She told People she will continue to “hope [for kids]” adding that she doesn’t want just one baby, but an entire “litter.” Banks even envisioned the type of mom she hopes to be, saying she would like for her children to be able to talk openly with her about everything.

“I don’t just want one child. I want a litter! And I want to be the kind of mom where my child can come to me for anything,” she said.

In the meantime, Banks is hard at work on her new daytime talk show, “FABLife.” The show marks the “America’s Next Top Model” creator and judge’s second attempt at a daytime talk show. “FABLife” is a roundtable show on which Banks is joined by co-hosts Leah Ashley, Joe Zee, Chrissy Teigen and Lauren Makk. Each co-host brings something different to the table, be it fashion expertise or a passion for all things culinary. According to Variety, the show, which premiered Monday on ABC, is doing tremendously well in the ratings department. The show is said to be ranking No. 1 in it's time slot across two of the top four television markets in the United States.

Tyra has not commented any further on her pregnancy wishes.
