A UK cyber crime police unit said Thursday it has arrested a 19-year old spokesman for the Lulz Security hacker group who went by the name of "Topiary" at a residence in the Shetland Islands of Scotland.

Police say he was arrested at a residence in the Shetland Islands.

The young man was allegedly a spokesperson for the hacking group Lulz Sec, saying he was involved in an alleged pre-planned intelligence-led operation.

The Metropolitan Police Service's Central e-Crime Unit (PCeU) said the man arrested is believed to be linked to an ongoing international investigation into the hacking groups Anonymous and Lulz Sec.

Another residential location being searched is in Lincolshire.

The operation is related to an investigation into network intrusions and Distributed Denial of Service attacks "against a number of international business and intelligence agencies by what is believed to be the same hacking group."
