A United Airlines passenger was found guilty of getting his wife to masturbate him during a Feb. 3 flight from Los Angeles to San Antonio, Texas, in the full view of a co-passenger.

Enrique Gonzalez, 48, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, was convicted on a federal charge of lewd, indecent or obscene conduct during a flight, Wednesday. His attempt to join the mile-high club on Flight 5755 backfired when the person seated next to him witnessed him touching himself. After a while, Gonzalez’s wife began helping him masturbate.

During the obscene act, he kept looking at his co-passenger, making the person even more uncomfortable. “According to the witness, the criminal conduct began when the cabin lights were dimmed and continued for approximately 30 minutes, during which, Gonzalez met the witness’ eye and continued his conduct,” FBI special agent Gregory Pratt wrote in an affidavit, obtained by My San Antonio.

The witness reported the incident to one of the crew members on the flight and Gonzalez was arrested by San Antonio Airport Police once the plane landed in its destination. He was held in the Bexar County Jail on a state misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure.

After being questioned by the authorities, “Gonzalez's wife admitted she 'played with it' during the flight,” the affidavit added.

In April, however, the FBI and U.S. Attorney's Office filed a federal misdemeanor charge against him as the act had taken place inside the flight and not on the ground. He will reappear before the court for his sentencing Friday. He faced $500 fine and/or up to 90 days in jail.
