On Thursday the U.S. embassy reported one of its diplomats was found dead at his home in Addis Ababa, a criminal investigation has been launched by police.

The body of the 25-year-old man was found on Monday. A diplomatic source in Addis Ababa the man worked in the embassy's consulate department and had apparently been murdered, Reuters reported.

According to local police, it is still too early to give any further details.
