Wayne Rooney scored twice after Gary Cahill's early goal, as England moved closer to qualifying for Euro 2012 with a 3-0 victory over Bulgaria on Friday in Sofia.

Cahill scored in the 13th minute, and Rooney followed that up with a flying header score in the 21st minute, and finished it all off with an easy tap off a beautiful pass from Manchester United teammate Ashley Young just before halftime.

Of England's 12 shots, 10 were on goal. Bulgaria were only able to muster eight shots, with three on goal. England maintained possession for 55 percent of the match.

England now have 14 points after six games in Group G, and are undefeated. Fabio Capello's squad will faced Wales on Tuesday, and Montenegro on October 7th.

Rooney's Manchester United teammate Dimitar Berbatov did not play for Bulgaria.
