Things turned ugly after the Paraguay - Venezuela semifinals on Wednesday night.

Paraguay defeated Venezuela to reach the Copa America Final against Uruguay after a goalless match, and a 5-3 penalty shootout victory. The game was rather physical, and the referee struggled to contain the verbal jawing and pushing in the later part of the match.

After some testy confrontations during the match, the anger spilled over when the game was over. Paraguay's Jonathan Santana received a red card in overtime, and that might have been one of the reasons for tempers to flare when the match concluded.

Players and coaches appear to be involved in a brawl. Security stepped in to contain the violence.
