A gas can might have been poured over an already stoked fire by boxer Robert Guerrero’s father, Ruben.

During the final press conference before Saturday’s bout between Robert Guerrero and eight-time, undefeated champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., Ruben Guerrero shouted:

“We’re going to beat up that woman beater, the one that beat up his wife, man. His wife in front of his kids."

He continued the rant: “You guys like that [expletive]? You like this guy, this woman beater? He must have learned it from his Dad. Women beaters, baby. We’re going to beat that woman beater. We’ll see how he’s going to like it. He’s going to get it from a real man. Damn women beaters. We’re going to beat that woman beater down. I’m serious.”

Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya eventually took the podium, interrupting Guerrero, and continued with the presser.

The comments follow a recent interview by Josie Harris, who has three children with Mayweather. Harris talked with Yahoo! Sports about the assault she suffered that resulted in two months of incarceration for Mayweather last year.

The 36-year-old, also known as “Money,” recently poked fun at Robert Guerrero’s arrest for bringing an unloaded gun onto an airplane back in March, and has also accused him of using his wife’s bout with cancer to gain sympathy from fans.

The fight takes place Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
