Rapper Troy Ave was arrested after four people were shot in the green room before a T.I. concert at Irving Plaza in New York Wednesday, WABC-TV reported Thursday. One man died from his wounds.

Video released by the New York Police Department shows Troy Ave opening fire. The rapper, who was also wounded in the shooting, is being charged with reckless endangerment. There’s a possibility he accidentally shot himself.

Troy Ave, 30, whose real name is Roland Collins, was reportedly the first person shot, WABC-TV wrote. He was hit in the leg and is expected to recover.

The incident started as a fistfight and became deadly when it turned into a gunfight. Rappers Maino and Uncle Murda were performing at the time. Rapper T.I. was slated to take the stage next.

The man killed was identified as Ronald McPhatter. He was shot in the stomach and pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital. His mother, Rose, told the publication her son probably took the bullet to save a friend. "Right now I probably am trying to figure out what happened and why. You know, I want answers," she said. "He loved everybody. He had a big heart."

T.I. responded to the shooting with an Instagram post. “My heart is heavy today. Our music is intended to save lives, like it has mine and many others. My heartfelt condolences to the family that suffered the loss and my prayers are with all those injured,” he wrote. “Respectfully, Tip.”
