“The Walking Dead” alum Logan Miller has joined the cast of Miranda Bailey’s “You Can Choose Your Family.”

Miller, who played Kingdom resident Benjamin in Season 7 of the hit AMC zombie drama, is one of the four recently announced actors to join Jim Gaffigan (“The Jeff Gaffigan Show”) in the Cold Iron Pictures and Imagine Entertainment flick. According to Deadline, the three other newly announced cast members are Anna Gunn (“Shades of Blue”), Samantha Mathis (“The Strain”) and Alex Karpovsky (“Girls”).

Miller confirmed his casting in a tweet, writing that they will try their best not to mess up the film.

“You Can Choose Your Family” tells the story of Frank (Gaffigan), a seemingly normal father of a loving family, whose home life is turned upside down when his 17-year-old son Phillip (Miller) finds out that his dad has a second family. Gunn will portray Frank’s first wife, Laura, while Mathis will play the second wife, Bonnie. Kapovsky will play the role of Ross.

“We have a truly talented group of actors and I am beyond excited to lead this stellar cast in this delightful story,” Bailey told Variety in a statement. “I can’t think of a more perfect class of actors to portray this seemingly dysfunctional family, which I think we can all relate to in one way or another in our own families.”

Bailey developed the film from a script penned by Glen Lakin. Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Karen Kehela Sherwood of Imagine Entertainment, as well as Amanda Marshall of Cold Iron Pictures, all produce the film.

Although “You Can Choose Your Family” is her first feature film to direct, Bailey has already directed two short films, a documentary and an episode of a TV series. She’s also the director of the upcoming documentary “The Pathological Optimist.” While Bailey doesn’t have much experience in directing, she has almost 30 producing credits under her belt, including “The Diary of a Teenage Girl,” “The Squid and the Whale,” “Swiss Army Man” and “Super.”

In addition to his recurring role on “The Walking Dead,” Miller was also known for his role as Tripp Campbell on Disney XD’s sitcom “I’m in the Band.” In the film side, the 25-year-old actor was last seen in the drama movie “The Scent of Rain and Lightning,” which was released in Atlanta last March. He was also part of the cast of the teen drama “Before I Fall,” which also stars Jennifer Beals, Diego Boneta and Elena Kampouris. According to Indie Wire, “Before I Fall” was one of the highest grossing independent films of 2017.

Miller will be seen next on Greg Berlanti’s comedy drama film “Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda,” which is based on the novel of the same name by Becky Albertalli. The film, which also stars Nick Robinson, Katherine Langford, Miles Heizer, Alexandra Shipp, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel, is slated for a March 16, 2018 release. According to his IMDb page, Miller is also filming the horror thriller “Prey,” which is expected to open in theaters sometime this year.
