The Walking Dead
Shows like "The Walking Dead" or "NCIS" remain incredibly popular despite recent shooting tragedies. AMC

The third season of “The Walking Dead” will return to AMC on Sunday at 9 p.m. EST following a short mid-season break. With plenty of action, and zombies, “The Walking Dead” looks to continue right where it left off.

AMC has revealed a bonus clip to tease fans even further ahead of Sunday’s premiere of “The Suicide King.” A trailer for the return of “The Walking Dead” was released last week, revealing more plot details and a better understanding of what is in store for Rick Grimes and his fellow humans.

In the bonus clip that AMC released on Monday, the scene takes place inside the prison and it’s a quieter character moment. The clip focuses on Sonequa Martin-Green, playing Sasha, who made her debut in “Made to Suffer,” along with her older brother Tyreese, played by Chad Coleman. Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson) is seen bandaging up Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). Beth (Emily Kinney) is seen holding Judith, the baby born only a week ago, and Sasha soon asks a rather painful question regarding the baby.

Beth is not the mother and there is a moment of silence shared among the survivors. It’s a quieter scene that plays to the strength of the series. While “The Walking Dead” may get attention for its violence and zombies, it is a character-driven series at heart, and without the emotional investment to these characters, the series would be rather mundane.
