Stocks opened higher on Friday, bouncing back after two days of declines, as strong earnings from General Electric Co and Google Inc lifted investor hopes.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 64.63 points, or 0.55 percent, at 11,887.43. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 7.15 points, or 0.56 percent, at 1,287.41. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 14.80 points, or 0.55 percent, at 2,719.09.
