Wall Street up on commods, Alcoa, Intel gain
Wall Street open higher on Monday, with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq jumping 1 percent, as rising commodity prices and a downtick in the U.S. dollar boosted energy and materials stocks and after brokerages upgrades on Alcoa
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 94.32 points, or 0.91 percent, at 10,423.21. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> added 11.13 points, or 1.01 percent, at 1,113.60. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> rose 22.42 points, or 1.01 percent, at 2,234.11.
