Stocks ended little changed on Wednesday as a profit warning from FedEx and weak housing market data overshadowed a surge in industrial production.

* The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> edged up 4.69 points, or 0.05 percent, to end unofficially at 10,409.46. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> dipped 0.62 of a point, or 0.06 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,114.59. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> added just 0.05 of a point to close unofficially at 2,305.93. The Nasdaq's tiny gain left it unchanged, from a percentage standpoint, for the day.
