Stocks were little changed on Friday as Caterpillar's profit missed estimates, offsetting a strong report from GE and an agreement on a Greece rescue package.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 24.44 points, or 0.19 percent, to 12,699.97. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 0.40 points, or 0.03 percent, to 1,343.40. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> gained 1.79 points, or 0.06 percent, to 2,836.22.
