Wall Street opens lower as commodities fall
Stocks opened lower on Friday as commodity prices fell, while investors looked ahead to consumer confidence data for insight into the prospects for spending, a key driver of the economy.
* U.S. dollar rebounds sharply.
* The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 32.12 points, or 0.37 percent, to 8,738.80. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 5.65 points, or 0.60 percent, to 939.24. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> lost 13.09 points, or 0.70 percent, to 1,849.28.
