Stocks opened higher on Thursday, snapping back from a broad three-day decline, as investors waded back into technology and other recently beaten-down sectors.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average <.DJI> rose 34.17 points, or 0.41 percent, to 8,319.06. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> gained 3.89 points, or 0.44 percent, to 887.81. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> added 14.77 points, or 0.89 percent, to 1,678.96.
