The Washington Wizards on Tuesday unveiled their new team uniforms and corresponding logos, recalling imagery from the time the team was known as the Washington Bullets.

I think it's only appropriate that our teams, playing in the heart of our nation's capital, wear red, white and blue, said Ted Leonsis, majority owner of the Wizards and Monumental Sports and Entertainment. It is gratifying that we are adopting a color scheme and introducing new team marks that illustrate our exciting future while reconnecting with our proud past.

It has taken just over a year of work with the NBA and Adidas to come up with the look, according to Andrew Rose of NBA.com

We feel very good about the process we took in terms of being deliberate, strategic, and that the end product is a very good look, said Greg Bibb, the team's executive VP of business operations.

The move is part of changes the team unveiled in October of last year with the aim of bringing an NBA championship to Washington D.C.
