While Spanish bull fighting or bull running festivals are fun to watch, the nature of the beast is such that it can often get dangerous and out of control.

One such instance turned fatal at the annual Fiesta del Toro Revolao on Saturday, where a man was gored to death by a bull.

The horrific incident which left two others injured took place in the village of Valfermoso de Tajuna, in the Castilla La Mancha region of Spain, was caught on tape.

The footage shows a man, 33, waving a piece of cloth in front of the creature, in order to get its attention. While he was successful in doing so, it also meant that the man had to run for his life to avoid getting mauled by the bull.

The animal went straight for the man, ignoring a young boy who somersaulted over the beast. It chased the man with the cloth, cornered him and started goring him to death. Chaos unfolded among the local crowd, which had gathered to enjoy the spectacle, not expecting anyone to get hurt or killed.

Many in the crowd tried their best to distract the bull, but it kept attacking the man, making it impossible for him to escape. Another man even grabbed hold of the bull’s tail in an attempt to get him off the man.

At that very moment, a red vehicle arrived at the scene and the angry bull directed its attention to the car instead, attacking its bonnet with all its might.

The identity of the man has not been disclosed in any of the reports so far. Even though emergency services rushed to tend to the Spanish man, they could not save his life. The wife and children of the deceased were present in the crowd at the festival and witnessed the unfortunate event, Euro Weekly reported.

According to Mail Online, two other bull runners were injured at the event, while a third spectator fainted at the event, due to sun stroke. This is the first time that a man has died at this traditional festival.
