Joe Montana stars in a new ad campaign that will air during the 2021 Super Bowl. The commercial finds the football legend discussing success and drinking a Guinness beer.

Guinness is airing a Super Bowl commercial for the first time in over a decade. In the spot, Montana talks about being the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) and how everyone has greatness within them. Of course, he also takes a sip of Guinness beer too.

“Being great is about more than the glory or the numbers,” Montana said in a press release. “It's really about being resilient and coming back – even from the hardest year ever. It's about celebrating each other and making everyone around you better. But most of all, real greatness is about keeping the faith that the best is always yet to come – that no matter what, we've got this.”

Watch the ads in the three videos below:

Montana is known for playing with the San Francisco 49ers, but the Hall of Famer played for the Kansas City Chiefs in his final two seasons in the NFL as well. The 4-time Super Bowl champion retired in 1995 but is still remembered as one of the greatest players of all time.

Guinness emphasized that they kept the GOAT safe while filming this commercial over three days. The shoot was socially distanced at two locations: a football stadium and Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore, the U.S. home of Guinness. The brewery has been baking and donating bread to local communities throughout the pandemic.

While Guinness is returning to the Super Bowl for a commercial, many of the usual advertisers are sitting this one out. Pepsi, Coca-Cola and Budweiser, among others, have announced that they will not air a big game ad. Some are pinching pennies while others are donating the funds to COVID-19 relief.

Super Bowl LV airs Sunday on CBS.
