Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger has said that his side is on the lookout for a new defender but will not be looking for any particular person.

The names linked to the club previously were Bolton’s Gary Cahill and Blackburn’s Chris Samba, along with Everton’s Phil Jagielka. Wenger, however, has refused to comment on any specific player but confirmed on the club’s official website that he is searching for defensive players for his team.

“I can promise we work very hard on it. In fairness, everybody looks for players. Everybody looks for the same area and you see that nobody turns up with magic. It’s all about being steady, working very hard on it and being calm as well,” Wenger said on Arsenal.com.

The manager said that the club is searching for one more defender but does not want to comment individually to destabilize clubs, according to an Arsenal.com report.
