Dolores Abernathy (Evan Rachel Wood) remained quite passive for a huge chunk of “Westworld” Season 1, but fans will see a different side to this host when Season 2 rolls about.

Wood told Entertainment Weekly that Dolores will be different next season, and it’s all because of the revelation she learned during the season finale.

“I’m really curious to see the unleashed version of her that we caught a glimpse of at the very end of the finale,” she said. “Those final seconds, I think we were seeing a completely different side to her, completely different programming and completely off of her leash, so I don’t think she will be the same person; she’ll be an evolved version.”

Wood is very grateful for her role as Dolores, and she earlier told People that taking it on “was much more healing than [she] thought it was going to be.” The actress confessed that Dolores, who is a victim of sexual abuse herself, actually helped her come to terms with her troubled past and helped her accept her bisexuality.

“It was terrifying at first and very overwhelming,” Wood further explained. “Then it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Honestly, playing this role was a real catalyst in that — and everything that she went through and her journey, and overcoming this trauma, and finding a strength she didn’t know was there. I think going on that journey with her by proxy kind of helped me with my own demons. So it was a real blessing.”

Meanwhile, Dolores’ father, Peter (Louis Herthum), has just been promoted to series regular in Season 2. Will her father’s presence help shape Dolores’ character moving forward? Find out when “Westworld” Season 2 premieres on HBO in 2018.
