Good news for “Westworld” fans, it appears that HBO’s sci-fi show will finally start production for its second season on July 10 in Moab, Utah and Santa Clarita, California.

My Entertainment World revealed the filming details and added that Moab will most likely be utilized for Western scenes inside the park, while Santa Clarita will probably be used to shoot the main offices of Delos.

Most of the scenes in “Westworld” Season 1 took place in the park, but Season 2 might take a different route since some scenes will be shot in a parking garage that showed a highway in the background. It would be interesting to see glimpses of the real world, so fans can finally get a clue what year the series is set.

Meanwhile, show creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy earlier said that the first episode of the next season will feature a time jump from the chaotic event that took place during the Season 1 finale, wherein Dolores Abernathy (Evan Rachel Wood) shot park creator Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) and went on another killing spree. “You’re definitely going to see the aftermath and the effects of what happened,” Joy told Entertainment Weekly, to which Nolan added: “We are definitely not picking up right where we left off.”

Things are running smoothly for the show, save for the script of one episode that Nolan and Joy were forced to change. The two revealed during Paleyfest that they had to change the script for Season 2, episode 3, since fans already guessed the huge twist they had planned.

“Reddit has already figured out the third episode twist,” Nolan said, according to NME. “So, we’re changing that right now. It’s annoying sometimes when people guess the twists and then blog about it, but the engagement is gratifying, on one level, because if someone guesses your twist, it means you’ve done an adequate job [of structuring the series].”

Season 1 was filled with a lot of surprises, such as the revelation that Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright) is actually a host created by Ford and that Dolores is the villain Wyatt. Hopefully, Nolan and Joy have cooked up more exciting things for next season.

“Westworld” Season 2 will return to HBO in 2018.
