“Westworld” star Evan Rachel Wood has said that acting in the HBO sci-fi show was like being in the Olympics because being a host requires her to switch emotions in an instant. But given the many scenes she had to shoot for Season 1, Wood revealed on Twitter that the final scene she shared with the Man in Black (Ed Harris) in episode 10 was by far the most difficult.

In that scene, her character Dolores Abernathy beat up her former lover and even dragged him along the ground.

Harris told Entertainment Weekly that he was very impressed by Wood during that scene. “It was kinda fun. It was certainly fun for her. It was fun doing the physical stuff. She becomes this super-strong, 180-degree turn from the country girl she had been in the past. Evan Rachel is pretty great in this thing,” he said.

Harris added that all actors who had to play hosts —Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton and James Marsden, to name a few — were all equally commendable because of “all that’s going on — or not going on — in their brains.”

When Wood appeared on “The Tonight Show” earlier to talk to Jimmy Fallon about the show, the actress said that playing Dolores was quite different from any role she had taken on in the past. “There’s tons of things that make it trickier,” Wood shared. “I mean you have to ask different questions as an actor. And we ended up nicknaming them ‘bot thoughts.’ Because we would have moments where I’m like, ‘Do I squint in the sun? Am I affected by this? Is this part of my programming?’ So we would always have to stop and go ‘Ah, I got a bot thought. Is this analysis mode? Or character? Where am I right now?”

“Westworld” Season 2 will return to HBO on 2018.
