HBO shows like “Westworld” are not shy about featuring nudity. In the new sci-fi show, tons of extras had to be completely naked all the time as Westworld technicians had to examine hosts and update their systems.

Felix Lutz (Leonardo Nam), in particular, interacted primarily with Maeve Millay (Thandie Newton). Nam told the Business Insider that he prepared himself to see Newton naked as Maeve, but he was caught off-guard when he saw all the other hosts.

“I remember thinking the scene was just going to be in a medical-like room — no windows or anything like that,” he said. “Just the other actor, myself, and Thandie. And then I go on the set and everything was glass. And I thought, ‘Wow, you can see it all, you can see into the other rooms,’ and then I saw the other extras and other bodies that were there.”

Nam told himself not to let nerves get the better of him because he needed to perform well as an actor. “I started to think, ‘Oh, OK, there's like 100, 200 extras, and they're all naked,’” he said. “And once you start to understand what it is that the show is doing, you really do put on the hat of a professional on the set, and you just go with that.”

Newton got a Screen Actors Guild nomination for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series for her role as Maeve Millay, but she lost to Clare Foy of “The Crown.” Nonetheless, Nam is extremely proud of his co-star for everything she has achieved.

“I really gotta give it to her. She really gave her all to this performance, and it really shows. People have really responded to her character and our storyline, so I'm just really grateful to be part of it,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

HBO is also quite proud of the success of its new show, so it has been renewed for a second season. But co-creator Jonathan Nolan earlier told The Hollywood Reporter that the show won’t be back for over a year since they have a lot of preparations to complete.

“Westworld” Season 2 will return to HBO on 2018.
