New satellite images show continued activities at North Korea's nuclear test site in the Punggye-ri region as the United States, South Korea, and Japan fear a possible sixth nuclear missile test, U.S. researchers monitoring the reclusive nation said Thursday. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that Kim Jong Un's regime may be capable of delivering missiles equipped with sarin nerve gas.

Commercial satellite imagery, taken on April 12, shows "continued activity around the North Portal, new activity in the Main Administrative Area, and a few personnel around the site's Command Center," the researchers said in a report posted on the 38 North website."In the courtyards of the Main Administrative Area, are approximately 11 probable tarp-covered pallets of equipment or supplies, a formation of personnel, and several individuals walking about."

The researchers described North Korea as "primed and ready" for another nuclear test, just ahead of Pyongyang's biggest national day, the "Day of the Sun," marking the 105th anniversary of the birth of state founder Kim Il Sung.

While tensions grow among North Korea's rival nations, Abe told a parliamentary session: "There is a possibility that North Korea already has a capability to deliver missiles with sarin as warheads."

Last week, North Korea test-fired a possible KN-15 missile, also known as Pukguksong-2, which flew about 37 miles before hitting international waters with a maximum altitude of over 117 miles. The missile launch came just days after it warned it will "mercilessly smash the enemy's (South Korea and the U.S.) moves with its own style of special operation and preemptive attack" in retaliation to the joint drills by South Korea-U.S. special operations teams in Seoul.

North Korea has continued its threat against the U.S. and South Korea despite several warnings from the international community. In March, North Korea carried out two ballistic missile tests. The reclusive country has so far conducted five suspected nuclear tests, including two last year.
