Asia has only hosted three Summer Olympics and one (soon to be two) Winter Olympics, and until the upcompin Rio games, South America has yet to host either.

With the annoucement Wednesday that the 2018 Winter Olympics will be held in Pyeongchang, South Korea, the IBTimes was curious as to which country had hosted the most Summer and Winter Olympics in the games' modern history.
