A Whitney Houston joke in a greeting card reportedly sold at Target has been called disrespectful, and too soon.

A photo of the card was posted on the popular Web forum Reddit over the weekend, and it quickly garnered hundreds of views, and comments from fans who thought it was a crude swipe at the singer coming less than two weeks after her Feb. 11 death.

Only the inside of the card is visible in the photo. It bears the following message: next time you think about doing the bad boy, consider whitney houston. that's all i'm going to say.

The two-sentence greeting doesn't really make that much sense, but Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston's ex-husband, did call himself badass during a performance shortly after Whitney Houston's death. He was seen as a bad boy, and perhaps it was written as a crude warning to the recipient of the card to avoid bad boys, or men who are bad influences.

Whatever the card was supposed to mean, it was done in poor taste, according to some of the Reddit users who viewed it over the past couple of days.

Reddit user wikiwikiwawawess wrote the comment /r/toosoon, using Reddit shorthand to suggest that it be filed in the too soon category.

And Reddit user pimpernel666 commented well that was fast, which seems to show his or her incredulity at the fact that such a card had been designed and printed so quickly and is already on the shelves at Target stores.

But a posting by Reddit user VitruvianMonkey seems to insinuate that the card had already been on the market before Whitney Houston's death at the age of 48 in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The user posted on Feb. 14 a different photo of the card in question, along with this message this greeting card now has such extra weight.

No matter when the card was printed, the card is in poor taste to some Reddit users, and surely to the Houston family and her millions of fans.

Whitney Houston was found dead Feb. 11 in her hotel room bathtub at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif., at the age of 48. There were reportedly alcohol and prescription pills found in her room, which authorities say may have contributed to her death. But autopsy and toxicology results are still pending, and an official cause of death announcement could be nearly two months away.

Whitney Houston's emotional funeral took place Saturday afternoon at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J. It featured performances by top musicians like Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys, and was closed off to the public.

She was buried Sunday at Westfield Cemetery in New Jersey.
