After Iggy Azalea’s performance with Ariana Grande at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Sunday night, many people want to know more about the Australian musician.

Azalea delivered one of her top hits, “Fancy,” while clad in a plaid cheerleader uniform. Many Twitter users compared her to a knock-off Gwen Steffani, but Azalea is a star in her own right. She merited an appearance at the BBMAs since "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, currently stands at No. 3 on the Hot 100 and her second hit “Problem” is at No. 4. According to Billboard.com, she is the first female rapper with two songs simultaneously in the top five of the Hot 100 chart.

Besides working with Charli XCX and Grande, Azalea has been recruited to work with Jennifer Lopez for her coming album “AKA.” In the past, the blonde beauty has worked with Sean Paul, Mac Miller, Diplo and Steve Aoki, and according to Us Weekly, she toured with Beyoncé in October 2013.

Iggy Azalea was born Amethyst Amelia Kelly and grew up in Mullumbimby, a small town in New South Wales. According to Us Weekly, she created the moniker when she started her career. Iggy is the name of the singer’s old dog and Azalea is the street she grew up on, where her family still lives.

Azalea is becoming known in the fashion industry a well. She was picked to star in Revolve Clothing's summer ad campaign and is also friends with fellow fashionista and “it girl” Rita Ora.

But Ora isn’t Azalea’s only celebrity connection. She’s been tied to Los Angeles Lakers player Nick Young. Their relationship apparently started on Twitter, where Young referred to Azalea as his “Woman Crush Wednesday.” They’ve been dating since November 2013. Before Young, Azalea dated rapper A$AP Rocky and recently covered up a tattoo of his name on her finger.
