Even though in 2015 he said he would “rather slash (his) wrists” than be James Bond again and “If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money,” it appears as if Daniel Craig will reprise the role of James Bond once again, according to the Sunday's Mirror.

If he does sign up for the role, this will be the 49-year-old actor's fifth Bond movie.

Rumors had other British actors in consideration for the role such as Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, James Norton and Aidan Turner. Even Sean P. Diddy Combs has expressed his desire to play James Bond.

The Mirror reported that Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, daughter of longtime producer Albert R. Broccoli, is said to have secured Craig and is “determined” to sign Adele onto the project to record the title track. Adele did the theme song to 2012’s “Skyfall,” which was the most profitable Bond film ever pulling in over $1.1 billion. Her track also won her a Grammy and Golden Globe.

“Craig and Adele together are the winning team, the ultimate choice, the money spinners. It’s taken time but Daniel has come round and the strong consensus in the Bond offices is that Mr. Craig is 007 again. As for Adele, she’s more of an unknown quantity but loved being part of Bond, so the signs are positive,” cited one source to The Mirror.

This will be the 25th installment of Eon Productions’ James Bond films, a franchise that began in 1962 with the film “Dr. No.” There were two films not by the company, 1983’s “Never Say Never Again” and 1967’s “Casino Royale.” Eon did a 2006 production of the same name.

The movies were adapted from novelist Ian Fleming’s books about a British secret agent code-named 007.

Before Craig played the titular role it was held by Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan. David Niven played the role in the non-canonical Bond films, the ’67 version of “Casino Royale.”
