Amy Schumer has opened up about her endometriosis battle after getting her uterus and appendix removed because of the medical condition.

The 40-year-old Hollywood star took to Instagram Saturday to update her fans after having a surgery. Schumer shared a snap she took from a hospital bathroom and a video clip recorded from her hospital bed.

“It's the morning after my surgery for endometriosis. My uterus is out. The doctor found 30 spots of endometriosis. He removed my appendix because the endometriosis had attacked it. There was a lot of blood in my uterus,” she said in the clip.

After having her uterus and appendix surgically removed, Schumer revealed that she was “sore” and struggling with “some gas pains.” However, she said that she’s feeling a lot better than before after the operation.

The “Trainwreck” star also grabbed the opportunity to encourage her followers to seek help if they are experiencing “really painful periods” as this may be a sign that they have endometriosis as well.

Endometriosis is a disorder in which a tissue similar to the one that normally lines the uterus grows outside of the pear-shaped organ, causing pain, discomfort and even fertility issues, as per Mayo Clinic.

After opening up about her experience, many of her fellow celebrities expressed their support for the New York native, including Jennette McCurdy, Debra Messing and Padma Lakshmi.

“I was just told this by my gynecologist! I'm bedridden for 24 hours once a month. Thank you for talking about this. Wishing you a speedy recovery,” the former “iCarly” star wrote.

“Oh my goodness, 30?! So happy they are gone and you won’t have that pain anymore. Heal well Am!” the “Will & Grace” alum commented.

As for the “Top Chef” star who was also previously diagnosed with the disorder according to Entertainment Tonight, she thanked the stand-up comedian for sharing her story on social media.

“Thank you so much for sharing your endo story. Over 200 million women worldwide suffer with this. Hope you feel better soon!” Lakshmi wrote.

Schumer and Chris Fischer secretly tied the knot in February 2018. They welcomed their first child, Gene, in May 2019 with the “I Feel Pretty” star admitting that her son’s birth was “really scary” since she was already diagnosed with endometriosis prior to her pregnancy, according to Us Weekly.
