Any iPad 2 running Apple's iOS 5 is potentially an easy target for a hacker. In fact, anyone with a Smart Cover can unlock the device, even if the passcode lock is on. Anybody with an Apple Smart Cover can easily access information, according to a report, such as e-mails, messages, Safari pages, contacts and maps.

The process is as easy as counting numbers. Once any user has a password-protected iPad 2, all he has to do is hold down the power button until the device reaches the turn-off slider. Next, the user will need to close the Smart Cover and re-open it. Lastly, by clicking the cancel button on the bottom of the screen, the user can unlock a device that was previously password-protected.

The problem can be temporarily fixed by disabling the Smart Cover unlocking in the iPad 2's Settings menu, which is under the General tab.
