Meghan Markle seem to have an easy time adjusting to the life of a royalty, and there’s a good reason why this is the case.

According to Elite Daily, the former “Suits” actress worked at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires after she was granted an internship by the embassy. Markle also graduated with a degree in theater and international relations, and this gave her a lot of knowledge in the field.

In 2013, she sat down for an interview with Marie Claire and said that at the age of 20, she always thought that she wanted to get into politics. “It was their economic devaluation and our Secretary of the Treasury at the time, Paul O’Neill, was there, so I’m 20-years-old, in Buenos Aires, in a motorcade, doing that whole thing. I thought for sure I would still have a career in politics,” she said.

However, when Markle returned to Los Angeles for Christmas that year, her friend introduced her to a manager that saw the student film that she starred in. After going to her first audition, Markle booked her first role and thought that making it on TV was just a breeze.

“All things considered, I’m so grateful and fortunate that I have a show now that’s doing well, but it’s not easy. It was definitely a struggle,” she said at that time.

Now that Markle is engaged to Prince Harry, she is expected to put her knowledge in international relations into good use. During the couple’s first sit-down interview, Prince Harry said that Markle will be in charge of some new causes and charities that are close to her heart.

However, Markle first needs to familiarize herself with how the royals handle such things. The former actress said that she’s open to the idea and was more than excited to start working with her fiancé.

Markle and Prince Harry will tie the knot on May 19, 2018. After their union at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the two will start working on a lot of things. Details about their work will be released by the Kensington Palace in due time.
