Things just got real for two of Bravo TV’s “Real Housewives.”

While it has yet to be confirmed by Andy Cohen, the “Housewives” head honcho and executive vice president of development and talent at Bravo, two of the longtime stars of the network’s hit series, “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” are rumored to have been let go by the network. According to a report from Radar Online, Gretchen Rossi and Alexis Bellino will not appear in the reality show’s ninth season, a series which follows around rich, married (sometimes divorced) women living and socializing in California's affluent Orange County neighborhoods.

Why were Rossi and Bellino fired? According to multiple reports, the twosome didn’t bring enough drama to the long-standing series to keep Bravo executives entertained. Radar Online claims that producers fired Rossi, who made her debut on the show in 2008, after executives felt her season eight storyline was “boring.” Allegedly, the 34-year-old blonde even staged an elaborate proposal to her boyfriend (now fiance) of four years, radio DJ Slade Smiley, in an effort to keep her storyline relevant, but to no avail.

While this is the first time Rossi was reported to be on the “Real Housewives of Orange County” chopping block, the news isn’t unfamiliar to Bellino, a 36-year-old mother of three. The fellow blonde, who has less experience on the program, making her debut during the fifth season in 2009, was allegedly welcomed back only after another cast member dropped out at the last minute. Despite her multiple, drama-filled appearances in season eight, Bellino apparently wasn’t dramatic enough for producers who also cut her along with Rossi.

While remaining mum regarded the casting rumors on her official Twitter account, Bellino previously commented on her rumored departure, telling Reality Tea that casting was undecided as of Sep. 13, less than two months before production was to begin. “Everything is still in the air," she said. "I don't even want to think about it. Right now I'm very undecided and I don't want to think about what we're doing,” she later added.

The casting news follows reports in June that fellow California housewife, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Taylor Armstrong, was also reportedly axed from the upcoming season of her series. Armstrong’s co-star Brandi Glanville confirmed that the single mom of one was let go by producers, but did not identify any specific reasons for the firing. “[Taylor] wasn’t asked back to the show and she will do anything to try and create a way back in as a full-time person,” said Glanville.
