Will (Laurie Davidson) will seemingly comes up with a new idea for his next play in Season 1, episode 3 of “Will.”

According to the synopsis for next week’s episode of the new TNT drama, Will has an epiphany that could bring him success, but he needs Alice’s (Olivia DeJonge) help to make it happen. In a preview clip teasing the rest of the season, Alice seemingly decides to help Will, but demands one thing in return. “I do need you to be by my side when I make this theater great again. [But] you will be my partner, my equal,” Alice tells Will.

Apparently, Alice isn’t only talking about work when she says that she wants Will to be her partner. At one point in the video teaser, Will and Alice are seen making love despite the fact that the budding playwright is married and already has three children.

Next week’s episode is titled “The Two Gentlemen.” While the episode title is clearly a nod to William Shakespeare’s play “The Two Gentlemen of Verona,” it doesn’t seem that Will’s next play on the show is the aforementioned comedy. In the preview clip, Will witnesses Topcliffe (Ewen Bremner) and his underlings execute a man, and that very moment seemingly inspired the idea for his next play.

“You plan to right a play about the most dangerous man in England?” Richard asks Will in the video tease.

“We are at war not only weapons [but] of words,” Will replies.

Meanwhile, as revealed in the synopsis for the episode, Robert Southwell (Max Bennett), the magnetic fugitive from Will's past, comes forth with a dangerous obligation. Before Will left for London, his family asked him to deliver a letter to Southwell. Will initially refused, but when his family told him that Southwell is a “true Catholic” and a “true writer” that he should look up to, and reminded him of his father’s death at the hands of the Protestants, the young playwright changed his mind and took the letter. Will Will come face to face with Southwell in next week’s episode?

“Will” Season 1, episode 3 airs on Monday, July 17 at 9 p.m. EDT on TNT. Watch the preview clip below:
