‘World Of Dance’
Ne-Yo, Jennifer Lopez and Derek Hough will return to “World of Dance” Season 1, episode 6 on July 11 at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC. NBC

World of Dance” Season 1 will not air a new episode on Tuesday to accommodate NBC’s Fourth of July programming.

But when the hit reality TV competition returns on July 11, at least four sets of dancers will be competing against each other for a chance to earn a spot in the cuts. Whoever will make it through will join the eight other contestants who have already made it past the duels. At least two more episodes of “World of Dance” will feature the duels, and the cuts will officially kick off on July 18. The cuts will also air on NBC for two weeks and will wrap up on July 25, according to Deadline.

Meanwhile, professional ballet dancer Misty Copeland will be joining judges Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough in the cuts. More than half of the dancers will be sent home and only the top two from the three categories — juniors, uppers and teams — will move on to the divisional finals. Since “World of Dance” only has a total of 10 episodes for Season 1, the dance reality TV competition is expected to wrap up on Aug. 8. That is, if there will no longer be any scheduling conflicts on NBC.

Copeland also shared a photo of herself with the judges of “World of Dance” Season 1, as well as host Jenna Dewan Tatum, via her Instagram account. The ballerina expressed her excitement over working with the four celebrities on the show.

It is unclear whether or not the winner of “World of Dance” Season 1 has already been decided upon by the three judges. After all, the taping for the episodes took place earlier this year. But just like any reality TV competition, contestants are not allowed to disclose any details about the show until it has already aired on the network.

Some of the fan favorites who are currently vying for a spot in the world finals include Keone & Marie, Les Twins, Eva Igo, Fik-Shun, Swing Latino, Diana Pombo, The Lab and Super Crew. The dancers who have not made it past duels include The Posse, Miami All-Stars, Quick Style, Nick Daniels, Kyle Van Newkirk, Boys of Temecula and Kyntay.

“World of Dance” Season 1 airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
