World of Dance” Season 2 has just been renewed by NBC!

The news came five weeks after the hit dance reality TV competition premiered on the network. Since its pilot episode, “World of Dance” has been receiving impressive and steady ratings week in and week out. Following episode 1, NBC dubbed “World of Dance” as the highest-rated summer program in nine years since ABC’s “Wipeout.”

In fact, judges Jennifer Lopez and Ne-Yo have already hinted on the show’s renewal for a second season even before NBC made the official announcement. After some fan-favorites auditioned and did not make it past the qualifiers, Lopez and Ne-Yo urged them to return to the show next year. The same thing happened with contestants who made it to the duels, but did not make it to the third round of the competition.

Lopez released a statement following the reality TV show’s renewal and said, “I am so proud to not only star, but produce a show that is so close to my heart. I am so happy that ‘World of Dance’ has resonated with audiences and we are able to put dancers on the pedestal they deserve. I cannot wait to continue this journey and my partnership with NBC,” she said.

Meanwhile, “World of Dance” Season 1 will air the third part of its duels on Tuesday, July 4 at 10 p.m. ET. Some of the dancers who haven’t competed include 801 Squad, Alaman, D’Angelo & Amanda, Immabeast, JJ & Joey, Kaeli and Brandon, Mini Request, The Maya Boys, The Mihacevich Sisters, Al Taw’am, DNA, Femme Fatale, Kings Unite, Luka and Jenalyn, Slavek and Juliet, The Nitty Grittyz, Trent Jeray, Vibration and more.

Those who made it past the duels include Diana Pombo, Eva Igo, The Lab, Les Twins, Keone & Mari, Fik-Shun, Super Crew and Swing Latino.
