Windows 10 Mobile OTA update rumors now suggest that Microsoft will begin the software update for eligible devices as early as next week. Carrier partners of Microsoft like Vodafone Italy and Vodafone Australia have hinted that they will be soon releasing Windows 10 Mobile update.

Microsoft had announced the Windows 10 Mobile OS in November last year. However, it is yet to release the update for Lumia devices running on Windows Phone 8.1. In January, T-Mobile Poland had released the update to Lumia 640 users. In the previous month, a representative from Microsoft Mexico had claimed on Facebook that the global release of Windows 10 Mobile update would happen on Feb. 29. But it did not turn out to be true.

Now, Vodafone Italy has revealed through its forum site that the carrier will be releasing the Windows 10 Mobile update to its users between March 7 and March 13. The update would be arriving to devices that are running on Windows Phone 8.1 such as Lumia 1520, Lumia 930, Lumia 830, Lumia 735, Lumia 635 and Lumia 535, MS Power User reported.

Vodafone Australia is also expected to soon release the Windows 10 Mobile OTA update as it has completed the testing of the software upgrade for their Windows Phone 8.1 devices. Carriers are making premature announcements from the beginning of 2016 which indicates that most carriers may have already finished testing the Windows 10 Mobile update.

According to the publication, Microsoft has stated that it will be releasing the software upgrade early this year, but it hasn’t provided a concrete timeframe. Even though some of the carrier partners have announced on releasing the Windows 10 Mobile update soon, Microsoft has not confirmed any information released by them.

The rumor mill has claimed that apart from the aforementioned devices, other smartphones that will be receiving the software update first are Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 634 (1 GB RAM model), Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL. The Redmond giant is also speculated to be working on Windows 10 Mobile ROM for smartphones like OnePlus 2, Xiaomi Mi 5 and the unreleased OnePlus 3.
