The Microsoft Windows 10 release date for desktops, laptops and tablets is set for July 29. And now, the company is aiming to make it big in the Asian market by rolling Windows 10 Mobile ROM for Android devices. The Redmond, California, giant has released the ROM for Xiaomi MI4 handset owners.

According to WM Power User that cites the Chinese blog IT Home, Xiaomi Mi4 users can go ahead and download the Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview ROM. The size of the ROM is 700 MB. It installs the Windows 10 Mobile 12562.82 version. Xiaomi Mi4 owners can try the Windows 10 Mobile ROM by signing up here. The ROM comes with a special password-protected tool that is required to perform the installation. Since the tool is protected by password, the ROM is currently only available for registered beta testers.

Softpedia reports that during the Windows Hardware Engineering Community (WinHEC) 2015 that was held in March, Microsoft and Xiaomi had proclaimed that they are collaborating on rolling out Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview for owners of Xiaomi Mi4 handsets. Under the deal, few beta testers were allowed to flash the Xiaomi Mi4 handset with Windows 10 Mobile ROM.

By making the ROM available for Android users, Microsoft aims to receive feedback so that it can finally roll out the ROM for ZTE Nubia 9 and more Android smartphones in the near future, adds GSM Arena. Another WMPU post claims that all the Xiaomi smartphones and tablets are available with unlocked ROMs. It means that users can install any of the available Android versions or another mobile OS.
