A cracking Saturday in the English Premier league saw all the top four record wins while West Ham climbed out of relegation for the first time in the season. Here's a round-up of all the action.

United won their second away game of the season with a hard fought 2-1 victory at West Brom in Saturday's early fixture in the English Premier League. Wayne Rooney opened the scoring with his first goal for the club in open play since March, but James Morrison equalized for The Baggies. West Brom had enough chances to win the game and saw a strong penalty appeal turned down. They then missed a penalty in the second half when Odemwingie fired wide. The miss proved costly as United's Javier Hernandez came off the bench to head home the winner.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson heaved a sigh of relief as his side beat Bolton 2-1 courtesy a last-minute Joe Cole winner at Anfield. Hodgson's job was under threat after Liverpool lost to Wolves at Anfield during midweek. Kevin Devis' opener didn't help matters as Bolton went into half-time with a 1-0 lead. However, Fernando Torres converted Steven Gerrard's chipped pass to equalize early in the second half before Cole tapped in unchallenged in the dying seconds to give the home side a much needed victory.

Arsenal kept pace with leaders Manchester United with a commanding 3-0 win over Birmingham at St. Andrews. Robin van Persie scored his first league goal of the season followed by strikes from Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas as Arsenal remained within two points of United.

Van Persie opened the scoring with a deflected free-kick in the 13th minute but Birmingham responded strongly and were denied a penalty when Van Persie appeared to handle the ball. However, Arsenal's pace and quick passing were too much for Birmingham as Fabregas and Nasri interacted with fluid passes before the latter doubled the lead. It was the same combination which led to the third goal with Fabregas scoring from an acute angle after his shot deflected in off Foster.

Manchester City won 1-0 against Blackpool at the Eastlands and moved level on points with United at the top of the league. Adam Johnson proved to be the difference though City had a host of other chances to record a much more comprehensive victory.

Spurs laboring 1-0 win over Fulham ensured that all the top four won on Saturday. Gareth Bale converted Rafael van der Vaart's free kick with a header beyond Mark Schwarzer, extending their unbeaten run to 11 games.

Elsewhere, Stoke won 2-0 over Everton leaving the Merseyside club just two points above the relegation zone, while West Ham's 2-0 win over Wolves saw them climb out of the relegation zone for the first time this season and Sunderland won 3-0 over Blackburn for their sixth home league win of the season.
