A woman was arrested and charged after she allegedly stabbed and killed her daughter and later drove the body to a hospital.

Rosa Alcides Rivera, 28, drove her 11-year-old daughter’s body to THE Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the woman got her “dead daughter” to the hospital; and requested medical attention for her daughter, Aleyda Rivera, who was in her car. Police were informed after the hospital staff determined that the girl was already dead before she arrived at the hospital. She was stabbed fatally multiple times.

“Security advised a white female drove up to the valet area (and) was argumentative and asking for medical assistance for a female passenger. Hospital staff determined (the passenger) was deceased,” Orlando police Lt. Diego Toruno said. The woman later reportedly became aggressive and pulled out a knife. She was detained soon after without any incidents by the police and hospital security. The hospital was put under a brief lockdown and the main entrance of the hospital was closed for most of the day. It was also treated as a crime scene for some part of the day. Rosa was arrested Sunday evening.

In a statement to the press, the Sheriff’s Office said, “At this time, we know the incident occurred in our jurisdiction at an undisclosed location.” No other details of the stabbing or the investigation were given out.

Rivera is being held at the Orlando County Jail for the alleged stabbing of her daughter and for the scene she caused at the hospital. She was charged with a first-degree murder and held without bail.

According to the police reports, Aleyda was to turn 12 Thursday. The reason for the stabbing has not been determined.

In a separate incident February, the Las Vegas police were called by a man who found his two-year-old son stabbed to death while his wife had several stab wounds. Police believed it was a murder and attempted suicide. Later the police were informed by the family members that the 21-year-old woman had suffered from depression since the birth of her son two years ago.
