The reaction from the fans at the Royal Rumble may have forced WWE to change its WrestleMania plans for a second straight year. According to a new report, Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are set to meet in the main event of WrestleMania 31.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Vince McMahon has decided to change course and make the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 31 a triple threat. Reigns won the Royal Rumble and was headed towards a meeting with Lesnar at the year’s biggest pay-per-view, but that could change when Bryan and Reigns have their match at Fast Lane.

Reigns hasn’t been booed heavily on “Monday Night Raw” but he was treated like the company’s biggest heel when he won the 30-man battle royal in Philadelphia. Bryan continues to get cheered more than any other babyface in WWE, and many fans have been hoping to see him reclaim the title that he lost when a neck injury forced him to get surgery in May.

McMahon and WWE find themselves in almost the exact same predicament as last year. Bryan wasn’t even in the 2014 Royal Rumble, and Batista was booed mercilessly when he won a spot in the main event of WrestleMania 30. Original plans called for Batista to beat Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but Bryan was inserted into a triple threat, winning the match to close the show.

Soon after Reigns won a title shot, it was reported that McMahon did not want to go the same route as last year. However, the response from fans might be too much to ignore.

While Bryan might get his title shot, it’s unknown who will win the match, With reports that Lesnar is set to leave WWE after WrestleMania 31, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll leave the PPV with the title, though it’s possible that he could win the match and Seth Rollins could cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

There’s been speculation that Reigns could turn heel, because of the way he was treated by the crowd at the Royal Rumble. WWE has been positioning the former Shield member to eventually replace John Cena as the company’s top babyface.

Before he was given a match with Reigns at Fast Lane with a chance to win a WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot at WrestleMania 31, Bryan had been linked to a few non-title matches at the PPV. Sheamus or Dolph Ziggler appeared to be his most likely WrestleMania 31 opponent.
