Olivia Munn will be playing Psylocke in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” Entertainment Weekly revealed her first official look as Psylocke, in which she can be seen wearing a fitted latex costume. According to Munn, her costume may be figure-hugging but it doesn’t matter as long as she is able to portray the strength of her character.

“Psylocke’s outfit or uniform or suit or whatever you want to call it is very sexual. I’ve got like my thigh-highs and a halter, but the thing about that, and that was important, is that it doesn’t matter what I’m wearing as long as we’re all aware of who she is,” she said.

She also added that her character is robust and powerful. “She’s very strong and she’s very lethal, and it doesn’t really matter what she’s wearing as long as you have that strength and that presence,” she said.

In the comics, Psylocke is a mutant superherione who is a telepath. She is the twin sister of Captain Britain. She had her mind placed in Japanese female ninja Kwanon and learned martial art skills. She also acquired elements of Kwanon’s personality and later on learned the art of telekinesis. She made her first appearance in “Captain Britain” Vol. 1, No. 8, by Chris Claremont and Herb Timpe.

In the film, Munn’s version of Psylocke will be a skilled sword artist. She has previously posted a video of practicing with the sword on Instagram. Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Psylocke will be one of the four horsemen of the main villain Apocalypse (Oscar Issac).
