Evan Peters will have a bigger part to play in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The actor who plays Quicksilver recently told MTV that new elements will be added to his sequence in the film. He added that there are some funny moments in his scene as well.

“This year we’re working on something that’s bigger and better, keeping the same elements that worked, then adding a few new ones. I’m really excited to see it all cut together, and I’m excited for people to see it, too. I think it’s going to be a really fun sequence in what is going to be a massive 'X-Men' movie,” he said.

In “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” Quicksilver uses his superfast speed in the Pentagon kitchen. The objects around him seem to float in slow motion as he runs on the wall and saves Wolverine, Professor X and Magneto. The scene was highly praised for its visual effects -- for which the film also received an Academy Award nomination.

Quicksilver moves, speaks and thinks at supersonic speed. In the comics, he is the son of Magneto and twin brother of Scarlet Witch. His alter ego is Pietro Maximoff and he made his first appearance in “The X-Men” No. 4.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” is being shot in Montreal and Peters has reportedly already shot his scenes in the film. A few weeks ago, director Bryan Singer teased a Quicksilver scene on his Instagram account. In the photo, crewmembers were seen suspended by a harness in front of a green screen and appeared to be moving in slow motion.

The film opens May 27. Other cast members include James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Lucas Till, Josh Helman, Lana Condor and Ben Hardy.
