When the Xiaomi Mi 4 flagship was launched last year, its base model of 16 GB was priced at 1,999 Yuan ($315). Fresh rumors suggest that the base model of the Xiaomi Mi 5 will also carry a price tag of $315.

According to Mobi Picker, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is scheduled to release in December with high-end specs. On the Chinese social networking site, Weibo, a famous leakster has revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 5’s pricing will be same as that of the launch price of the Xiaomi Mi 4.

Since the 16 GB Xiaomi Mi 4 was priced at 1,999 Yuan ($315), the 16 GB Xiaomi Mi 5 will also cost the same. Since the $315 pricing mainly pertains to China, the 16 GB Xiaomi Mi 5 may cost a bit more outside the country.

The Mi 5 is expected to arrive with topnotch features as it was recently spotted on AnTuTu benchmarks with a score of 73,075. It will be featuring a 5.2-inch display with support for full HD resolution.

Speculations are rife that it will be the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 820 or Helio X20 chipset. The SoC will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM. It will be available in two storage flavors of 16 GB and 32 GB.

It will arrive preinstalled with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. Its rear-facing camera will be of 16-megapixel whereas the front will be housing an 8-megapixel camera. It will be also arriving with the new USB Type-C connector.

According to Phone Arena, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be coming with an advanced biometric recognition -- ultrasound 3D fingerprint identification, a feature that will be natively supported by Snapdragon 820. It will be more accurate than the current fingerprint recognition present on most smartphones.

Rumors also suggest that Xiaomi is also working on another handset called the Mi Note 2 that will carry same specs as the Mi 5. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is expected to feature a larger display of 5.7 inches that will support Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It will also come with an advanced rear camera.
