  • A YouTube video showing an unreleased pair of Bose earbuds recently appeared
  • The video does not mention what earbuds model it is
  • But a quick look at Bose's website shows that the earbuds in the YouTube video are the Bose Noise Cancelling Earbuds 700

A YouTube video uploaded a few days ago shows what appears to be an unreleased pair of wireless earbuds from audio company Bose.

The seven-minute video, spotted by CNet, shows an unboxing of the so-called “QuietComfort Earbuds” from Bose. The box does not give exact details regarding the earbuds' model number and actual name. It simply has the “QuietComfort” branding, but it remains to be seen whether Bose will indeed use that for the device's name.

CNet noted that there's an “FPO” marking on the box, which indicates that the graphics and box design as seen in the video may or may not be representative of the actual packaging once the earbuds are released. The FPO marking, which stands for “For Position Only,” means the box is but a placeholder.

Eagle-eyed netizens will be able to notice that on one side of the box rests details, including the device's serial number, model code and some labels that are normally found in electronic device packaging. But these do not reveal the wireless earbuds' name or model. Looking the serial number up on the internet does not reveal any results as well.

A quick look at Bose's website, however, seems to indicate that the earbuds in the YouTube video are the Bose Noise Cancelling Earbuds 700, which is slated to launch later this year. The company describes this pair of earbuds as “a truly wireless in-ear headphone with truly astonishing noise canceling.”

Per Bose, “this category-defining earbud is being designed to deliver noise canceling that’s comparable to our most powerful banded headphones.” It's basically the company's best noise-canceling headphones, like the noise-canceling headphones 700, in a smaller, more compact form factor.

Bose also claims that once it is finished developing the Noise Cancelling Earbuds 700, it will feature “hypermobile essentials” such as support for the user's preferred voice assistant, “intuitive” touch controls and a portable charging case that can provide the earbuds with more juice when not in use.

The video doesn't showcase any of these features. It merely shows what the device could look like once it hits shelves. CNet, however, noted that the “demo” model presented in the video appears more shiny or glossy compared to what Bose is known for. Bose is known for using matte finishes on its offerings.

That said, fans are advised to wait for Bose to make official announcements regarding the unreleased earbuds. If anything, these will likely go head to head with or even overtake Apple's AirPods Pro and other offerings from Sony.
