On February 12th Zang Toi presented his “Paris of the Orient” inspired collection to the fashionistas of New York Fashion Week. The Stage at The Lincoln Center was full as the dramatic music set the stage for the type of collection, which really defined that this was a show, theatrics were just as important as the clothes for fall 2014.

Always a show-man, Toi did not disappoint the crowd who could barely contain their gasping as each look was more powerful and modern then the one before.

From tailored separates to show stopping gowns Toi gave the fashion crowd all the glamor of 1930’s Shanghai. Toi did however put his own mark on the elegant era and made the collection feel very modern and new.

In a nod to his past the collection was personal to Toi, who dedicated the extravagant collection to his late father. Backstage Toi told us that his dad was “his first fan” while admitting the huge role his family played in making him the designer he is today.
